  1. I like hearing the writer’s perspectives. Particularly as we are all not agreeing with some of the decisions …

  2. I appreciate the efforts you make to create such a beautiful site for our consumption — I feel guilty gaining so much when contributing so little! The podcast interview has a more intellectual bent to it than I had expected. The writers and producer give professional insights that I found fascinating — the debates that go on between the writers and the actors — the amount of attention to the tiny details that create the fine artistic outcomes that we take for granted. The example here is Sam’s insistence that breaking down sobbing when he sees the photos of Brianna doesn’t work — Jamie has never met Brianna and Sam’s contention is he would not be moved to sobbing (as in the book). Think about for a moment, think about Jamie and all the other sad times he has endured and I agree with Sam that Jamie would not be sobbing — even though he will have had years of worrying about her. Yes, he would sob with the loss of Claire through the stones but Jamie isn’t a sobbing kind of character. He has a tremendous capacity to cope with calamity and distress — Brianna safe and sound is what he wants and when he learns that she is safe he is deeply relieved and moved. But not sobbing. That’s Sam’s read on it — we can debate away but he’s Jamie so he wins!
