Outlander When Fergus Brings Claire Home in episode 207 Faith
I have noticed, in the many comments following the airing of Outlander, Season 2, Episode 7 – “Faith”, the outpouring of emotion.
Naturally enough, the devastating scenes when Claire lost her baby, brought viewers to tears (myself included), however the scene I find the most heart rending is when Fergus brings Claire home.
This one “gets me” every time I see it. It has so many levels, the thought of Fergus being “home alone” for weeks, without both Jamie and Claire, the length of time Claire has been suffering at the L’Hopital, the time in the Bastille Jamie has endured, the thought of Claire returning to the house without Jamie, dear Fergus going to bring Claire back, the respect of the staff, Suzette’s tears, Claire touching and bowing to Magnus and then entering a empty house looking so emotional and shattered, raw and sad, physically vulnerable and unable to hold back her tears.
I’m crying just writing this… We feel such empathy with Claire, we just want to reach out and comfort her. How did it affect you? I know I’m not alone.
